With 30 years of experience in the Atlanta region going on trouble calls, the following are a list of the most common problems and fixes that you can do yourself before you call One Call and save time and money:

I came home from work and my house is hot.  It was working fine this morning when I left!

If the ac unit isn’t running:

  1. Check the thermostat to ensure it is set at the proper temperature.
  2. Check to ensure the thermostat is set to the “cool” setting.
  3. Check for a blown circuit breaker.  If it keeps tripping call One Call at (678)929-1179 because there was a reason why it keeps tripping. Schedule repair service online and save.
  4. Check the air filter. A dirty air filter can cause the A/C unit to shut down.  Don’t run the A/C unit without an air filter.  Keep a spare air filter nearby.
  5. If none of those help call One Call at (678)929-1179 because you likely have a larger problem that warrants a repair call.  One Call provides true emergency service.  Ask how our Tune-Up special can cut the cost of your repair!
The ac unit is running but the air is warm.

  1. Check the thermostat to ensure it is set at the proper temperature.
  2. Check to ensure the thermostat is set to the “cool” setting.
  3. Check the condenser outside to see if it is running and look inside to see if ice has built up on the coils.  If ice has built up inside, shut the ac unit off and let the coils start to defrost.  Don’t try to chip the ice off – you will likely damage the coils.  Call One Call at (678)929-1179 because you likely have an ac unit low on Freon.  Schedule repair service online and save.  One Call provides true emergency service.  Ask how our Tune-Up special can cut the cost of your repair!
  4. Check the air filter.  A dirty air filter will slow the air passing through the ac unit.  Don’t run the air conditioner without an air filter.  Keep a spare air filter nearby.  If the air filter is that dirty call One Call at (678)929-1179 because the coil and blower inside the air handling unit is likely dirty also driving up your energy cost.  Schedule repairs online and save.  Ask how our Tune-Up special can cut the cost of your repair!  One Call will inspect the air ducts near the air handler because there may have been a buildup of dust and you may likely need a good air duct cleaning. You may be noticing more dust in the home which will increase in allergies.

I have noticed my utility bills going up higher than last year.

  1. Have you added any items that may be using that power such as hot tubs etc?
  2. Has your utility company raised their rates?  Compare your current bill with old ones.
  3. Have you ever had an energy audit for your home?  Several problems may be occurring that would make more than pay for an energy audit.
  4. Is your A/C system running frequently or constantly?
      1. Check the thermostat to ensure it is set at the proper temperature.
      2. Checked your air filter?  Keep a spare air filter nearby.
      3. Check for debris around your A/C unit outside or clogging the fins.
      4. Schedule service online and save or One Call at (678)929-1179.  Ask how our Tune-Up special can cut the cost of your repair!

  6. Is your current A/C system getting old?  As your A/C system ages it will use more power.  If your current system came with the new home and is over 7 years old, it may be ready for replacement. If your system is more than 10 years old, studies show that you will have a dramatic dercrease in efficiany. It will only get worse as your system ages. Current technology has greatly improved the efficiency of air conditioning systems.  Call One Call at (678)929-1179 for a review and consider installing a replacement air conditioner.
